Up and Running is the only company in the UP that provides complete technology support- computers & servers, networks, printers & copiers, phone systems, surveillance systems, point of sale systems, web design, and much more.

A little history: Up and Running was started by Peter Hanson in 1995 with the purpose of serving local businesses and residents with their computer problems. By 2005, Up and Running had outgrown its home office on a steep hill (upper Emerald St. in Houghton, MI), and MTEC, a Michigan SmartZone, accepted its application to rent office space out of its Portage Building location (the old hospital) in Hancock, MI. Also in 2005, Matt Thyer joined the team as the first service technician. The years 2005 to 2007 were a period of healthy, consistent growth for Up and Running. Matt took over all ownership of the company in 2009 and Up and Running "graduated" from the MTEC SmartZone and moved to its' current offices located in the Marketplace Building, downtown Houghton. Today, Up and Running serves some of the largest organizations in the area, has 6 full time employees, and has been consistently growing each year.
